Senior Scientist / GL of Biophysics

工作地点:上海浦东         所属类型:Discovery Biology         发布时间:1000-01-01

岗位描述:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Manages the design, development, and implementation of SPR and other biophysical (e.g. BLI) experiments to determine the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters governing the binding affinity, kinetics and mode of action for protein:compound and protein:biologics interactions.

• Manages screening of the fragment library and Kd and LE determination for fragment hit-to-lead optimization using SPR and other biophysical technologies.

• Collaborates with protein scientists to design protein constructs (including tagging/labeling) and optimize protein production (expression and purification) for biophysical and structural studies.

• Leads the identification and utilization of current and emerging SPR and other biophysics technologies to expand capabilities and fulfill customer needs in cutting-edge drug discoveries.

• Potentially sets up and manages a structural biology lab with capabilities for high throughput crystallization and structural determination by X-ray crystallography.

• Supervises and effectively mentors employees.

任职资格:

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirement:

• Ph.D. in Biophysics, Structural Biology (X-ray, CryoEM, NMR), Enzymology, or a related scientific discipline. Prior work experience, most preferably in a CRO/Biotech/Pharmaceutical setting, is highly desirable although not absolutely required.

Required Experience:

• Highly experienced with SPR both in fundamental techniques and modern instruments, with a demonstrated track record of applying SPR techniques in drug discovery projects. Expertise in other biophysical techniques (e.g. BLI, MS, ITC, TSA/DSF, protein NMR) is a strong plus.

• Experience with Structural Biology methods such as X-ray crystallography, protein NMR spectroscopy and Cryo-EM is a plus.

• Expertise in mechanistic enzymology and protein chemistry, and fundamental understanding of molecular interactions, macromolecular complexation and stability, and complex mechanisms of enzyme/receptor modulation is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated experience in FBDD is highly desirable.
